Donate to the 3:16 band
Donate to the 3:16band and help 3:16 spread the word of God. Often people
will say that they appreciate what we're doing. They wish they could do
that or wish they could help. Here is how you can help. Donate to the band
and help us defer the costs as we go to play at events or churches that
simply cannot afford to pay any or much to the band. Many local bands will
make $300 - $600 for playing at local bars. 3:16 is not in this for the
money but understand that it takes a lot of good equipment to have a good
sound and the upkeep on the equipment is not cheap. 3:16 often puts out
of their pocket to cover these costs. Help support gospel bands that you
believe are doing God's work. It is a sacrifice that gospel bands make
to play for less but it is a sacrifice they are glad to make because gospel
musicians do this to serve the Lord. But as the Bible says the worker is
worthy of pay. So if you would like to help support the 3:16 band we offer
two choices. So you know, the 3:16 band is not a non-profit organization.
You will not receive tax deductions for your donations. The 3:16 band is
not a charitable organization. We are simply a band that is going out to
fairs, festivals, churches, organizations and more and spreading the word
of God through song, witness and testimony.

The band has a nice history to it. Dave Byers and Dave Halfhill
are longtime friends from high school and played together in several
bands over the
years playing all across the area. Pat and Larry are good
friends of Dave's for years also. They'd played with Dave while Dave was
doing solo gigs a few summers back. John is a nephew of Pat and Larry's.
Zach is Dave Byers's son and Bill Vassar is a soundman at various venues.
Dave Byers, Pat and Larry Wolf enjoyed being a band together and wanted
to continue
playing music. So Dave Byers recruited his old pal
Dave Halfhill into the band as drummer. Wanting a strong vocal presence
the band then asked John Chevront to be their lead vocalist. With David
Halfhill servingi n the military, Zach Byers assumed the lead drum position
though Dave Halfhill is a great friend and continual part of the band as
time permits for him and Zach while in college.
We as the 3:16 band really enjoy playing at churches, fairs and festivals
because it gets out among many different people. Music outside is always
fun and we love to play gospel music to people in a contemporary
way that many people aren't used to hearing. The music is contemporary
but the message is the same message that has survived throughout time that
God loves us and has a plan for our lives. Mark 16:15-16 "He said to them,
'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever
believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will
be condemned'" 1 Corinthians 9:16 reads "For if I preach the gospel, I
have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is unto
me, if I preach not the gospel." God brings change in a powerful way. Isaiah
1:18 says "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though
your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are
red like crimson, They will be like wool." As Christians we will tell you
that we are certainly not perfect. Christians sometimes get that stereotype
that they think they are perfect. Let us tell you that we are not implying
that at all but that He (God) is perfect and we have found immeasurable
joy in knowing Him and we simply wish to share that joy with others. Ephesians
2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one
can boast." So we'd be silly to say that we are anything other than musician's
who love God and want to play music together to His glory. 1 Corinthians
1:31 "Therefore, as it is written, 'Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.'" So
we boast in the Lord and hope that His joy is also in you or that you will
give Him a chance to intercede in your life and make a major impact in
your life.
Psalm 92 It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O
Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at
night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works
of your hands. How great are your works, O LORD, how profound your thoughts!
